Fitting JCW exhaust to F55 cooper S

  • Hello everyone.! Hope you had had great holidays.

I'm new to this forum and quite new to the MINI world as well.

I own an F55 Cooper S 2016 and would like to fit a JCW Factory exhaust. Has anyone tried it? Is it really worth it? Also, do I have to homologate it for the TÜV?

This topic has more probably been discussed in German but I can’t understand much.

I would appreciate your help. I attached a pic of my F55, it’s always nice to see MINI pics lol

  • Hi,

many people have done it, they seem to enjoy it :)
I haven't done it myself though.
It is not legal to fit the exhaust of another model to your Cooper S, even if the engine is quite similar. But as there is a MINI part number on it, most police officers and TÜV engineers will either not even notice or just let it pass either way. In that case it's your choice if you want to do that.

    regards

  • The JCW exhaust ist about 15 cm shorter than the F55 exhaust.

This will not work plug and play. ;(

Ich verstehe das ganze Gerede um 200 Zellen, juten Metern und diesen ganzen Kilos Watt nicht.

    Hauptsache das Ding schiebt. :2352:

I thought about only replacing the rear muffler. Because you have to cut either way, I‘m not sure if this is still a problem.

remus is surely louder with the valve opened.
